Week of May 14

Well, well. Another week come and gone. And, woohoo, more pictures.

Well, we had a great week, starting with a lot of work on Tuesday. We went to visit first Karla, then Egidio that morning. We have noticed something a bit off in Karla, so we decided to try and help her let us help her with it. We talked a lot about how we want to help and how we always need to press forward with faith, hope and charity (2 Nephi 31:20). She seemed better when we left that day, but she never made it to church yesterday. So, we went last night to go talk to her and see what the problem is. She’s been running into the problem that President Hinckley talked about a lot. She’s over the “honeymoon phase” of being a member and life is starting to get hard. She can’t feel the Spirit as strongly as she did a few months ago, and she doesn’t feel worthy. We spent an hour and a half with her trying to help her recognize the healing power of the Savior’s atonement and trying to give her more hope. We had an amazing lesson with her, and I learned a lot. We’ll follow up this week to see how she’s doing.

We also talked to William, the husband of Brigda, an investigator we’ve started to teach. He is addicted to alcohol and tobacco, and he wants to stop. We went over a few simple principles, such as faith and the atonement, to try and get him to start stopping (hehe). Without us even saying anything, he went and grabbed all of his cigarettes and ripped them up and threw them away. I was super happy. He even came to church 🙂 So, we’re going to go visit him some more this week and see how we can help him get through this vice of his.

The Osborns and the Wollenzeins came this weekend for various things and we had a great time with them.

Honestly, not too much else happened this week. Elder Delgado got ready to leave last night and left this morning. We’re walking in a threesome until Thursday when the other Elders get back from Luaha. Then I’ll still walk in a threesome until Sunday, when Elder Chamberlain will go home.

Well, love you all!
